Current Information

Dear All

Can I remind you about the Coaches Meeting next week? I know that the U17's are away but I will meet with Tim and Steve separately after the meet to go over things with them.

Wolverhampton have confirmed the three games next week. At the moment U14's at home, U15's and U16's away. I have asked Wolverhampton to allow another of these games to be at home. I will let the Under 15's and Under 16's know if the location of their fixtures is going to change.

All Lead Coaches please make sure your assistant coaches are present at the meeting if that is possible. We have to do CRB checks on all the coaching and volunteer staff at the club associated with the Juniors. After end January if you do not have a CRB or are in the process of getting one you cannot work with Junior players, so you can see how vital this is.

Just to throw a spanner in the works of me getting all the assistant coaches to the meeting, I have been told today that there are 5 places up for grabs at Bridgnorth RFC on Sunday afternoon at 1.00 for a START Rugby course. This is the equivalent of the introductory coaching course for coaches working at Under 9 and up. So time to 'fess up people. Which of your coaches have no coaching qualification? We need to take advantage of these places. Please, please, please let me have names of the people who have to go on this course ASAP. Do not leave it until Friday.

Graham is standing down as CCC would you like to fulfil this rewarding role?

What is the role of a CCC?

-          To recognise, promote and manage personal development opportunities for coaches

-          To encourage all coaches within the club to become formally qualified

-          To identify potential coaches to fill coaching posts within the club

-          To promote the RFU Code of Conduct for Coaches and/or develop an aligned club policy

-          To seek support from, and keep in contact with, coaching personnel within the RFU, the CB and scUK

What are the benefits of becoming a CCC?

-          RFU recognition for a job you are already doing

-          Heightened club and personal profile

-          RFU corporate clothing

-          RFU ‘needs based’ training and accreditation

-          Enhanced knowledge of all aspects of coaching

Contact Fergy if you want further information

Existing coaches.
Please send your match reports and results to Graham, alternatively, get a keen parent or one of the players to write the report.
CRB checks

If you have a valid enhanced CRB certificate, please bring them in for Rae to copy. A copy made by you or me is not valid.

If you haven't got a CRB, then get the forms from Rae, she will tell you what to do next.

This  page is aimed at coaches, aspiring coaches, people who are standing on the side and think that they might like to help coach or referee.

Whether you have experience or not you can help. The Rugby union run a full range of courses from beginners to Sir Clive Woodward standard.

So don't be shy, contact Graham Evans who will give you details of the latest courses.

If you have got a coaching suggestion that will benefit the rest of the club, please send it to me and we'll publish it here.
