Volunteers for Shrewsbury Rugby Club
Like most rugby clubs, Shrewsbury RUFC relies heavily voluntary help.

If you can spare some time to help with any aspect of the club please contact Rae.

You will not get paid, but you will have fun.

The Junior section are currently looking for the following help:

VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR - To be responsible for all volunteers other than coaches, the Coach Co-ordinator, Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and Welfare Officer; to deal with concerns or difficulties they may have in carrying out their volunteering duties; to encourage volunteers to attend related workshops and provide them all with the necessary information to attend—Over the season approx 20 minutes per week

TRANSPORT CO-ORDINATOR - To provide team Managers with directions to away fixtures; when a bus is necessary organise the same and inform team managers of the arrangements—Over the season approx 10 minutes per week.

MEETER & GREETER - To be the first point of contact for all new and potentially new players and their parents/carers; to inform them of the Club’s operating procedures; to take contact details and report those details to the Subscriptions Secretary; to introduce new players to his/her coach; to smile a lot—Over the season approx 30 minutes per week.

6 TEAM MANAGERS - To manage age related teams; to work closely with the team coaches; to take a register of players present each week; to ensure that players know of arrangements for matches; devise a system of communication with players; to collect match fees and pay them to the Treasurer; to provide players with fixture lists—Over the season approx 30 minutes per week.

KIT OFFICER - To sell Club Kit to players and other members; to account to the Treasurer for monies received; to keep proper records of all transactions—over the season approx 20 minutes per week.

WELFARE OFFICER - To review the existing Child Protection Policy and Codes of Conduct and to amend as necessary; to develop an Equity Policy; to develop a disciplinary code; to inform all players, parents/carers, coaches and other volunteers of all policies and codes, to ensure all volunteers are CRB checked—Over the season approx 30 minutes per week.

6 FOOD OFFICERS - To receive enough monies from the Treasurer to buy sufficient food to feed all players in home games; to buy that food; to prepare that food; to serve that food; to clear up after—over the season approx 30 minutes per week.

PROMISE

The existing volunteers at the Club appreciate that agreeing to help out at the Club in a voluntary capacity can be a daunting prospect for many of you. We want to reassure you that we will support you all the way. You will not be suddenly expected to take over a job with no briefing or knowledge of what the job entails. The Secretary and the Treasurer and all the coaches will be there to help you and guide you. Do not be put off, email us and tell us what job you are interested in doing.
